Insider knowledge for independent jewellers who want to build something genuinely distinctive
GOLDDUST FOUNDER
Hi, I’m Kate
I'm Kate Baxter, founder of GoldDust. My background in the jewellery industry is a little unusual - I've worked on both sides of it.
I started out as a jewellery designer, working for international brands, before spotting a gap in the market for a platform that curated the best independent fine jewellery designers in one place. That became The Cut London, which I built over a decade into one of the most trusted destinations for discovering independent jewellery talent.
Running The Cut London meant I spent years making decisions about which jewellers were ready to be seen, and watching closely what happened to the ones who were. I understood what customers responded to, what press and buyers were looking for, and what separated the jewellers who built something lasting from the ones who stayed stuck despite having genuinely beautiful work.
The talent was nearly always there - what made the difference was the brand around it.
I started GoldDust because I kept seeing the same thing: jewellers with work that deserved a much bigger audience, who just needed someone to help them find what made them distinctive and build everything around that. That is still exactly what I do, and it is the thing I find most satisfying about this work.
What GoldDust is built around
Fewer things, more meaning
Does the world really need another jewellery brand?
The answer is yes (there’s no such thing as too much art) but only when that jewellery brand has something genuinely distinctive to say. GoldDust helps you work out what that is for you specifically, and build everything around it.
No gatekeeping
The jewellery world can feel closed off: secretive supply chains, unanswered emails, contacts that are impossible to find. GoldDust is built on the opposite principle. We bring together professionals from across the industry and share what we know, openly and generously.
Real, specific knowledge
Not generic business advice dressed up in jewellery language. Everything inside GoldDust comes from 15 years of watching what actually works for independent jewellery brands in this specific market. The guest experts, the contact lists, the frameworks; all of it is jewellery industry specific.
I started GoldDust to help independent jewellers stand out: the market is full of cookie-cutter designs, boring imagery and brands that all look the same. Understanding how to make customers care about what you’ve designed is one of the hardest parts of running a creative business.

GOLDDUST ONE TO ONE
PERSONAL STRATEGIC SUPPORT, £250/MONTH
Each year I work closely with seven jewellers who need something more tailored than a programme or a membership can offer. This might be because your business situation is genuinely complex, because you are at a significant crossroads and need strategic thinking specific to you, or simply because you learn and work best with personal, direct support rather than a structured curriculum.
You get weekly WhatsApp access, a monthly Zoom strategy call, quarterly progress reviews, and direct feedback on your work as it happens. Everything is shaped entirely around your business and what it needs most at any given moment. There is no fixed programme, no group, no one-size-fits-all approach.
Only seven One to One places are available each year.
If you’re not sure if the Brand Intensive or the One to One would be a better fit for you, book a call below for a no-pressure introductory chat where we can talk through where you’re at.
